Fresh green leaves, each with a white strip running along their length, emerge in spring, forming a dense, fountain-like clump that moves gently with the breeze. Then in late summer, upright stems arise, each crowned with a cluster of pink-tinted flower tassels, which over the next couple of months, gradually turn a deep coppery colour. Deciduous.
