Japanese Snowbell. A graceful spreading tree with glossy green leaves, turning yellow or red in autumn. Pretty bell-shaped white flowers produced along the undersides of the branches from early to mid-summer. Height 10m. Spread 8m. Flowers from June to July. Deciduous. Hardy. Shelter from cold drying winds.
Red / purple-leafy derived form of the regular Styrax, although the leaves nevertheless turn green when there is a lot of sunlight in summer. Flowers with pale pink to white flowers in the months of June and July. Fairly slow growing species that can only reach a height of 3m after more than 10 years.
